Let's start with how eye catching this cover is! A lot of readers will be driven to this book by the cover alone because let's face it... WOW! Now, I can testify that the story is just as smoking as this cover and like all Burton's novels, it will leave a burn mark in your mind from how hot
this story is.
Taking a Shot is the third installment to the Play by Play series. Like it's predecessor's it contains an intriguing story and lots of hot sex! Jenna, who we met in earlier books, is running the family sports bar since her father’s heart attack. She is beyond tired of sports talk and athletes and has a secret interest that not even her family knows about. After she succumbs to the many advances from the very sexy Hockey player Tyler, she learns that maybe she can reach her dreams after all.
This story moves at a steady pace with great character interactions and an enjoyable cast. Jenna is easy to relate to with her mannerisms and inner turmoil's. Tyler will grab your interest and not just because of his sexy persona but for his generosity and compassion.
Taking a Shot can be read as a standalone but the other books to this series are just as fantastic! The next book to this series, Playing to Win is due out in September!
Hey Brandi...great review...I loved this book too! Ty was just sooo understanding. I think I might have slapped Jenna for her silliness. A great guy who supports you, respects your ideas and gets along with your family! Grab that man up and never let him go!!! Why was she so afraid to love though??? Her parents have a great love affair and yet she was so gun shy...did you figure it out?
