When a new clue into a cold case surfaces, Nick asks Sam not to take any foolish chances before the wedding and to leave it alone for the time being.
Sam agrees, but she can't let it go entirely and winds up trapped in an explosive situation. Then an unwelcome visitor from her past threatens her future happiness... With trouble at every turn, will Sam survive long enough to walk down the aisle? (Goodreads)
Review:
This little quickie is just a teaser into the lives of Sam and Nick. These two have been through the ringer and if they don't deserve the wedding event of the year, I don't know who does. That said, their wedding is no Kardashian picture perfect affair...the shower is a Jack and Jill (which Sam very nearly misses, the guests are cops, senators and ex-cons, and the one dress is simple Vera Wang elegance. But don't be lulled into a post-matrimonial bliss, this short story has a great little mystery, a whole lot of angst and some heart shattering love. I too have suffered through multiple miscarriages, but unlike Sam I never gave up hope. My heart went out to her and I loved how she and Nick found their way back into love and down the aisle. Love, like babies, can come from anyone and anywhere...the heart just knows what the heart wants!
Loved it...Enjoy!
