Sum It Up! Clear your schedule before picking up this book because you will NOT be able to put it down once you pick it up!
A casualty of the war between the demons and the vampires, Jase Kayrs has been missing for six long years. His older brothers want answers—but they’re going to have to get them from an unlikely source. For when Kane Kayrs tracks down Amber Freebird, what he finds is a blonde, vegan pacifist who has no intention of using her skills in his war…
A TIME FOR LOVE…
Amber enjoys her life of chaotic freedom and has no intention of falling in line just because a sexy-as-sin vampire insists on order. Unfortunately, he discovers she may be the only hope they have of finding his brother, and there’s no way he’s going to let her go—even if it means mating her to gain her cooperation. The two are as different as can be, yet when the dominant Kane and the untamed Amber finally unite to rescue Jase, they just may find that opposites really do attract… (Goodreads)
Review:
Looking for a knock your socks
off book that you just CAN'T put down? Look no further! Zanetti once again
proves how much heat can be written in a book without literally setting the
pages on fire.
When their parents' were killed,
all of the Karys brothers were thrown into roles they would have to maintain for
the rest of their lives. Kane became the voice of reason and intellect of the
family. Strong, intelligent, intellectual and beneath it all, a warrior with a
heart of steel with barely any emotions whatsoever. If something can't be
explained away under a microscope, in his book, it does not exist, including
love. Sure, most of his brothers have mates they claim to love beyond all else,
but to him, that is a chemical reaction in their brains that makes them act like
blubbering idiots.
Amber Freebird is a carefree
spirit with not a care in the world and whose main aspiration is to attend a
community college. As a vegan and a pacifist, Amber lives in an eco-community
that lives off of their land. The only reason she has taken a job as a waitress
is to pay for her grandmother's hospital bills. Little does she know just how
much trouble her granny being in the hospital will actually cause for her? As it
turns out, Amber is one of the last remaining demon destroyers. But since she
doesn't even believe in vampires, demons or anything else of the supernatural
variety, that can't possibly be true, right? Boy does grandma have a lot of
explaining to do.
With Amber's powers no longer
being shielded from the world, she is now broadcasting like a beacon that sends
Kane Karys right her way, among other creatures. When he seeks to enlist Amber's
help, he is beyond dumbfounded when she acts as though he is some nut from the
loony farm even after he tries explaining the very serious matter of Jase. But
when reality comes knocking at her door, or rather tearing her door from off its
hinges, she is forced to face the truth, and trust in the only man who can save
her, Kane. When Kane finds himself wanting this little minx more than he has
ever wanted anyone, he chalks it up to the stress of losing Jase, proving just
how dumb smart people can truly be.
Also, Jase may be coming to the
end of his captivity with the demons, the question is will he be rescued before
he gives up his will to live. And little Janie is all grown up and has a few
tricks up her sleeve to see this war come to an end.
Throughout this series, fans have
watched the interactions in her dream world between Janie, Zane and Kalin, well,
things may be finally coming to a head. And there is no telling what that
outcome may be.
Clear your schedule before
picking up this book because you will NOT be able to put it down once you pick
it up! And do not cheat yourself, read this entire series. Even though you can
read this book as a standalone without being too lost, that is not something I
would recommend seeing as how it would not give you quite the same emotional
impact. And trust me, you will NOT be disappointed.
Thank you for the very nice review! :)
