Review:

Looking for a spooky book for the Fall? Lisa Jackson produces yet another spine-tingling thriller that will have readers avidly turning the pages. Selena Alvarez is the main character. She is intense and very driven, a great female main character who needs no saving from anyone else. When Selena learns of the latest case, she is chilled-literally. Two women are found dead in the cold water and Selena instantly recognizes them. However, her connection to the victims is far from the creepy part; the victims are found wearing a piece of her jewelry. Whoever is behind this case just made it personal to Selena.

Selena's character is as strong as ever. She remains intelligent and witty. The reader will learn far more about her than he/she had known before and Selena reveals more of her past. Apparently, Selena's past is something she'd prefer to remain firmly behind her. The killer seems to know Selena on an intimate level and leaves Selena afraid for herself and what may come to light next. The reader will revisit with familiar characters such as Regan and Dylan, both will help solve the murders.

Lisa Jackson keeps the reader guessing throughout the story. There are numerous twists and turns; the character development in the case of Selena makes this book worth reading in and of itself. Selena will rapidly become a favorite character of the readers'. This plot is very convoluted, but the author does a terrific job of explaining in detail. Overall, an adult mystery reader would really enjoy this novel.
