Sum It Up! I just love this series!
Commitment! It made Sage run the other way. It made Creed shudder. But Sage's granny, the Widow Presley, was determined to get her granddaughter a cowboy for Christmas. And who better than Creed, the man interested in purchasing the widow's Rockin' C Ranch?
The fact that a three-day blizzard was blowing in just made things
all the better. A person can't run from commitment when they're snowed in, now
can they? (Goodreads)
Review: This sweet story reminded me so much of the first one in this series, Love Drunk Cowboy, which was about Creed's brother Rye. Let me be up front: this series is filled with good people, honest situations and family. There is the love and lust (albeit hinted more than described) but the emotions, dialogue and relationship come first and foremost. I just love this series!
Creed is looking for his "home" and when he comes across the Rockin'
C Ranch, he knows he found it. Unfortunately, Ada gives him several stipulations
before the sale can be completed. The major one: allow Ada's granddaughter to
always have a home on the 3000 acre parcel. Creed agrees and then also agrees to
run the ranch for three weeks as an audition for Ada. After only one day, Creed
knows that he has found his home and he resigns himself to a life of
bachelorhood in the remote canyon.
Unbeknownst to Sage, her Grand (the woman who raised her) is selling
her home and her inheritance. The Rockin' C Ranch had been in her family for
generations, but Sage had not been listening to Grand when she kept telling Sage
to find a husband before Grand sold the Ranch. Sage pushed through a terrible
snow storm to get home after her latest gallery trip only to find a man in her
home. Even though he was the most handsome tall cool drink of water she had ever
seen, Sage told herself she was not thirsty.
As the storm rages on, these two form an uneasy truce and begin to
settle in to life together in the canyon. Could it be so bad, each wondered
about the other? Sage could tell after only a few days that Creed was a good man
and that he loved the land and the animals as much as she did. Creed noticed her
passion for the canyon, the west and the ranch. I just loved as these two began
to find things to like and then love about each other. Their relationship
unfolded...I just love that style. Then, add to it a pregnant dog, a litter of
kittens and several sprigs of mistletoe! What you get...the Magic of Christmas!
Enjoy!
