Sum It Up! I wanted to love this story soooo much! I loved the idea, somewhat reminiscent of the brainy women from Erin McCarthy's Fast Track series

Welcome to The Booby Trap, a seedy bar where waitresses' skirts are high, necklines are low and customers show up for the eye candy.

When brainy, beautiful, Harvard Ph.D. candidate Bambi Benson wants to study the women of the Booby Trap for her dissertation, she goes undercover and joins them. All is going well for Bambi until handsome local celebrity Trip Whitley enters the scene.

Hoping to shock his high-society family by dating a bimbo, Trip offers to pay Bambi to pretend to be his girlfriend. She accepts his offer and bides her time, waiting for the right moment to reveal her true identity and teach Trip not to judge based on appearances.

After a series of dates carefully orchestrated for their publicity value, Bambi's trap is set. But there's one problem: the predator might have fallen in love with her prey. (Goodreads)

Review: I wanted to love this story soooo much! I loved the idea, somewhat reminiscent of the brainy women from Erin McCarthy's Fast Track series (esp. Imogen from Hard and Fast) and Olivia Cunning's Rock Hard from the Sinners on Tour series. But, the steam and raw sex appeal that the latter two books left The Booby Trap in the dust. The title lead me to hope that there would have been more tease, more angst…but instead Bambi delivers us silly and twitty. I hate when smart women play dumb. I would rather she had revealed her true self at the Little Women tour. But, the writing was very good and the character inter-play between Bambi and the other women characters was great.

Trip…where to start? He was a shallow, egotistical, man-whore, who knew it and even liked those qualities about himself. But somehow, Bambi works her charms into him and on some deep level he must have known the real Bambi. That fact, and the fact that she did not overtly lie to him, made his childish behavior all the more astounding. I was quite glad that these two stubborn characters had friends who loved them and forced the HEA!

PS…you know I am a sucker for an epilogue…this book had one, and a good one, but still, I wanted a steamy one??? Oh, well, you can't always get what you want, but in Trip's case, he got the woman that he needed to snap his head out of his backside! Enjoy!
