Sum It Up!  Matthew by Emma Lang is a sensually sweet novel that is wrapped in mystery.

In the wake of his parents' murder, Matthew Graham must take the reins at the Circle Eight - a vast spread in the eastern wilds of the newly independent Republic of Texas. He also needs to find a wife in just thirty days, or risk losing it all. Plain but practical, Hannah Foley seems the perfect bride for him...until after the wedding night. Their marriage may make all the sense in the world, but neither one anticipates the jealousies that will result, the treacherous danger they're walking into, or the wildfire of attraction that will sweep over them, changing their lives forever... Review:
Matthew by Emma Lang is a sensually sweet novel that is wrapped in mystery. Mathew comes home with his siblings only to discover both his parents murdered and his baby brother gone. With their finances in ruin, Matthew must step up and raise his rather large family and find out who committed the crimes. Matthew finds himself under an incredible amount of pressure that only builds when he is told he needs a wife in order to obtain the land grant his father had worked so hard for.

In a desperate search he finds Hannah Foley, a plain girl with all the right fix-ens. Matthew by Emma Lang is the perfect introduction to Circle Eight. The reader is caught off guard immediately by the death of the parents and the mystery of the killer only draws the reader in more. Matthew and Hannah are both well-developed characters though many times I found myself becoming irritated by their behavior with themselves and with each other.

However, as the story pans out even the most irritating character traits are necessary for both character's dramatic growth. The sensual level of this novel is intense at first straying away from the romantic element, but soon they begin to build a loving and tender bond. The mystery within the novel is the glue of the entire story. It is the one thing I found as a reader that kept me egging on. I had to know who killed the parents and why. Lang is an incredible author and I am curious to see what happens to this courageous family.
