Sum It Up! This book had it all: a meddling family, a best friend/fiancé and a "new" lover.

The wedding may be off, but the honeymoon is on. . .
Merilee Fallon has been planning her wedding to Matt Townsend since she was seven, and now the big day is only two days away. But suddenly she has an unexpectedly serious case of cold feet. So she shocks both Matt and herself--and calls off the wedding.
They may not get their happily ever after, but both Merilee and Matt agree they shouldn't let their non-refundable honeymoon go to waste. So they take the Mexican Riviera cruise--as friends. It's Merilee's chance to be adventurous, and maybe even put her newfound freedom to the test. But she's about to discover that sometimes there's nothing more arousing than first love--especially on a cruise ship where there are no rules and anything goes. . .  (Goodreads)

Review:
I really enjoyed Sex Drive the first book in this series. I bought it at an airport in Texas during a layover en route to New Orleans. Travel books are so awesome to read when you yourself are travelling. Somehow, they just seem more exotic and romantic...especially since I was a Vancouver local (Sex Drive is the drive to Vancouver) who was travelling so far the opposite way! That said, Susan Lyons/Fox writes wonderful stories about families, friends and lovers. This book had it all: a meddling family, a best friend/fiancé and a "new" lover.

M&M have been an item for over 14 years...they are "soul mates", they are perfect for each other, and they are totally immature and ridiculous. At 21 they think they have it all figured out, but in the light of day (albeit 2 days before their wedding), Merilee realized that she and Matt just don't have passion. So what would any normal, reasonable, mature woman do? Talk to her lover of five years? Discuss with her best friend her concerns? NO...Cancel the wedding and hide out in her room crying is the answer!

Ugg, I was so mad at this point, that I almost stopped reading the book. But somehow, I was hoping that these two would grow up. Thankfully, the cruise opened their eyes to a life outside of each other. Meeting new people and having independent experiences taught them that they can co-exist separate from each other and then still be a couple. That part was worth the read (and the steamy scenes along the way were good too!).

I seriously encourage people who may be struggling with the passion in their own love lives to read this book and then TALK to your spouse or lover and make the passion. People are so disposable these days...don't feel the passion, move on...don't like their hobbies, move on...don't like their family, move on...Well, I say, invest like Merilee and Matt finally did in this story. Take time to talk about your wants and needs. Take time to discuss your future and your hopes. Take time to make five year plans. After 20 years, these are the things I have learned...well, that, and a few other tips that work come from romance books! M&M learned to get dressed up, put on a mask, act out a shower scene! Enjoy!
