Sum It Up!  Unfortunately, I found myself debating whether to finish the book as well as continue the series.

Corine Solomon can touch any object and learn its history. But right now, she's trying to rebuild her pawnshop and her life despite her being marked as a witch. When demons from her past kidnap her best friend, Corine puts everything on hold to save her... (Goodreads)

Review-
Corine is in Mexico trying to rebuild her life with the help of Tia and Chance. She and Chance begin to resume their former relationship but at a slower pace, neither wanting to move too quickly.  When demons kidnap Shannon and take her to the Sheol, Corine will stop at nothing to bring her back.  This journey does not just change Corine but also the lives of those involved.

I wish I could say that I loved this book, but Ann Aguirre’s narrative writing detracts from the depth of the story. The storyline of finding Shannon, Corine and Chance’s relationship, Ninlil (the Demon Queen) laying dormant in Corine, and the fight for control of the Sheol  makes the story lacking in continuity. The constant struggle between Corine and Ninlil becomes somewhat trite halfway through the story. The ending was rushed even with the tragic death of one of the main characters. Unfortunately, I found myself debating whether to finish the book as well as continue the series.
