Review:
Ilona Andrews is a
husband and wife team and they create some of the best books I have ever
encountered. Fate’s Edge is
surprising and inspiring. The amount of world building that goes into this
series and the way in which everything about the book is implemented it feels as
though readers can visit the Edge, and the Weird. These places become real and
visceral.
Kaldar Mar has
been introduced in the previous book although we don’t get a lot about him we do
have an idea of what kind of person he is. He cares a lot about his family,
there is nothing in the world he wouldn’t do to protect or help them. So
becoming a part of the Mirror wasn’t a huge decision for him. He wants to make
sure that there will always be someone watching out for his family. Even though
he can be arrogant, and egotistical, he is still a likeable character with
redeeming qualities.
Audrey has always
wanted to love and attention from her family that was always given to her
brother. She accepted her role as a pawn in her family but she is always left to
pick up the pieces of whatever mess her family gets into. When her dad shows up
unexpectedly, she gives him a life-changing ultimatum. Audrey thought she could
predict everything for her life, and that she could control it but that was
until she met Kaldar Mar.
The
Edge series is one of
the best there is and I always try to recommend it to as many people as I can.
These books do not have to be read in series form but there will be things that
won’t make sense if they are read out of order. I encourage everyone to at least
try it! You won’t regret it!
