Too much of a good thing…

With her long ponytail and sparkling green eyes, Tessa Donovan looks more like the girl next door than a businesswoman—or a heartbreaker. Which may explain why Detective Luke Asher barely notices her when he arrives to investigate a break–in at her family's brewery. He's got his own problems—starting with the fact that his partner, Simone, is pregnant and everyone thinks he's the father.

Tessa has her hands full, too. Her brother's playboy ways may be threatening the business, and the tension could tear her tight–knit family apart. In fact, the only thing that could unite the Donovan boys is seeing a man come after their "baby" sister. Especially a man like Luke Asher. But Tessa sees past the rumors to the man beneath. He's not who people think he is—and neither is she.
I fell in love with Eric in the anthology The Guy Next Door, but I was truly irked that I had to wait out the entire summer to get some more of the Donovan Brothers. Then, add to my disappointment the fact that we got Eric's little sister Tessa first. Needless to say, I felt that this story had a lot to live up to in my mind. Then…Ms. Dahl delivered and then some; Good Girls Don't was wonderful. Full of funny brotherly banter, bevies of beer swilling bimbos and hot, sweaty lovin'…with a policeman (insert swooning noise).

Luke is a broken, hardened, chided man who survived being a police officer in LA, but is hardly thriving. Enter, Tessa, the vibrant, oozingly cheerful younger sister of Luke's former college carousing buddy Jamie. As a fellow manwhore, Luke had his share of women, but settled down young and moved to LA to pursue his dreams of being a police officer. Now, back in Boulder, everyone including his former friend believes the absolute worst about him. The only one willing to give him a second chance is Tessa…but her lies and deceit soon interfere. My heart ached as Tessa had to beg Luke to give her a second chance and give both of them the HEA that they deserved.

The brothers leave you wanting more…Jamie is up next and I can't wait to discover his new found love of gardening and landscape. Just thinking of him shirtless and wet from the water feature installation has me reaching for the next book. Eric is up last with Real Men Will and if we have learned anything about Eric it's that he goes after what he wants…now if he can only decide what it is that he really wants???

Enjoy!
