Butterfly by Paisley Smith

Vampire Narcissa Csintalan is in a New Orleans bar, waiting on her tardy sister Elena, when she develops a raging fang-on for the bar’s sinfully sexy, butch bass player. The bite marks on the songbird’s neck put her at the top of Cissy’s must-feed list.Butterfly Baudelaire has sworn off strays, but the blonde coming on to her has a killer pair of fangs and looks like she knows how to use ’em. Butterfly’s not banking on the bite Cissy takes out of her heart—or the fact more than her well-spanked bottom is in danger from her vampire lover.

Gilded Cage by Delilah Devlin

Since her turning, Elena Csintalan has wrestled her inner demon on a nightly basis. She never expects her limits to be tested—until she finds herself drawn to a tawny woman whose lush curves make her eyeteeth spike. Before she knows it, she’s dangling inside an iron cage, one that’s frighteningly familiar. And the punishment she endures is oh so divine…Despite a surprising empathy she feels for the vampire she’s captured, Cassia proceeds with her coven’s plan—drain Elena of her blood at the height of orgasm to complete a potion that will protect them from Elena’s maker. Cassia scried the darkness coming their way, and the monster has a name…the Countess Elizabeth Bathory. (Goodreads)
Forewarning, both of these short stories are filled with F/F, bondage, S/M, sexual torture and many other explicit delights that are very detailed as well as graphic. This is my first F/F reading, but as you all know as long it has vamps I'll give it a chance! And these two authors most definitely know how to take a girls' virginity when it comes to F/F.

Though these shorts are under two separate titles, they both tie into the same story. Both sisters have sworn off men for all eternity, literally, and have found love at long last in two very different women, or have they. Each woman in these stories has demons in their closets, some figuratively some literally. Cissy must learn to follow her heart, Butterfly must learn to open up, Elena must learn to trust and Cassia must learn to trust and let go as well.

Reading is about exploring new worlds without even breaching your front door and these two dynamic writers will allow you to do just that. While most authors just dabble and throw in a lesbian couple here and there, Smith & Devlan are no holds barred. If you are a sensitive, this book is not for you, readers who like to take a walk on the wild side will most definitely enjoy.

One more thing, the true jaw-dropper is the cliff hanger at the end.

  1. Thanks very much for a wonderful review! The second Femme Noir book is coming soon and you might take a look at Girls Who Bite (Cleis) if you enjoyed our lesbian vampires. :-)
