NRR: Can you tell us when you knew
you wanted to become a author and who inspired you?
SN: I think I was probably born
knowing that I wanted to be a writer. I loved reading, I loved falling
into worlds that were so different from my own. As a kid, I was
transfixed by books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder, Frances Hodgson Burnett,
and Lucy Maud Montgomery. As I got a little older, I entered worlds
created by C.S. Lewis, Piers Anthony, and Tamora Pierce. And, of course,
no girl's literary world could be complete without Jane Austen and the Bronte
sisters. As you can see, I'm especially drawn to female authors.
