Sum It Up!
Black City is a fantastic, fast paced, dark and edgy read, and I loved it!

Summary:
When Maddy finally killed her father, Azazel, she thought his deAzaleapraved experiment died with him. But now Chicago has been infested with vampires immune to the effects of the sun, and the bloodbath is worse than she could have ever imagined. While the Agency refuses to interfere with other supernatural courts, Maddy is determined to do everything within her power to save her city—wings or no wings.
But when the leader of the vampires requests that she turn herself in or risk more deaths, Maddy becomes a target for the very people she’s trying to save. Left with no other choice, she turns to Lucifer, the one creature who has the power to help her. But her grandfather’s aid has always come at a price. (Goodreads)

Review:
Black City is a fantastic, fast paced, dark and edgy read, and I loved it! I would have better understood Maddy and her world had I read the previous books in this series, so I recommend reading them in order, but otherwise this is a great read.

When Maddy is called out by the vampires, she has no choice but to turn to her grandfather and be willing to pay the price he demands for his help.
I thought the book might have been a bit better if Maddy wasn't able to solve everything with her increasing magic, but overall loved the action and the type of fantasy world Ms. Henry created. I do have to reiterate, this is not a stand alone book by any means and would be better loved and understood if read in series order!
