Review
Today I find myself pondering the question, “How does one
praise a book and not give the story away?” I must confess up until now, I have been
lukewarm about the series. There were times when I wanted to stop reading it
altogether. Then I read Lies & Omens
and my faith was restored.
Ms. Benedict has improved on her writing with her flawless
seaming of past and present. Her
character development grabs and holds you until the very last satisfying page. The
fact she brought back some of the series favorite characters entices the reader
to dive deeper in the story. Even with
the long and sometimes dull chapters, in the middle of the story, the pace
picks up and slams you into the climatic ending. I was grateful that ms.
Benedict tied up the loose ends from previous books. I am not sure if the series is ending or
going in a different direction. Either way, every Urban Fantasy fan should read
this one book.
