Hanna Boudreaux has lived in the small town of Willow, Colorado all her life. The great-granddaughter of the town matriarch, she's sweet, cute and quiet.
Too quiet.
Hanna has a moment of epiphany when she realizes her crush for forever, Raiden Ulysses Miller, is not ever going to be hers. She sees her life as narrow and decides to do something about it.
Raiden Miller is the town of Willow's local hero. An ex-marine with the medal to prove his hero status, he comes home, shrouded in mystery. It takes a while but, eventually, Hanna catches his eye.
But after all these years of Raid and Hanna living in the same town, the question is, why? Is Raid interested in Hanna because she's sweet and cute? Or does Raid have something else going on?

5 HUGE HOOTS!!
Raiden Ulysses Miller...Raiden Miller...Raiden...Raid…Raiden (said on a whisper)…
The above describes the book Raid and the evolution of Raid and Hanna's love story. Raiden Ulysses Miller was an enigma, a bad-boy force of nature, a myth and an urban legend. Hanna, like many of the girls/women in Willow, crushed on Raiden Ulysses Miller from afar. He was remote and aloof and all three names were needed to describe the huge, tough, amazing man that was Raiden Ulysses Miller.
As the story unfolds, Hanna realizes that Raiden
Miller is just a man. A man who obviously lusts after big boobed Barbie's who
are skinny, skanky and slutty. And on that day, Hanna realizes that Raiden
Ulysses Miller is actually just Raiden Miller, man…and that is the day her life
truly begins.
Hanna becomes who she is meant to be. She stretches
her comfort zone, opens up her horizons and gets a new hair do! And wouldn't
you know it, but Raiden Miller notices. For the first time in nearly 20 years,
Raiden Miller notices Hanna Boudreaux. Then, shockingly, Raiden Miller asks
Hanna on a date. I loved seeing these two have preconceived expectations and
opinions about the other. I loved how they shattered those ideas and let each
other be who they really were and who they could be together. To say that their
journey was smooth would be a lie…but to say that the trip was arduous would be
an even bigger lie.
As Hanna and Raiden connect, share meals and then
share bodies, Hanna learns who Raid is. Raid is the man that other people
know. Raid, the son who kicked his dad ass to secure a home for his family, the
brother worked through high school to feed his family, the marine who carries
the spoils of war, the friend who hires his buddies when no else will, and the
townsman who mows old ladies' lawns. But Raid is also the man who desires to be
Raiden for Hanna…and for Hanna alone.
I loved these two together. I love how innocent and
fresh Hanna was through the whole story. She reminded me so much of Anya
(Knight) and of Ava (Rock Chick Revenge) who both had to learn how to live with
a dominant man, a possessive partner, and an assertive lover. The love story
wove in and out of back story which was all relating to Knight and his ongoing
issues with Nair and yet was not compromised in its path towards their
HEA.
One huge aspect that I loved about this story was
the "who" that is Raiden Ulysses Miller. The under current throughout the story
gave the reader and Hanna small pieces of Raiden and larger pieces of Raid. But
like Hanna, I was drawn to Raiden and who he really was deep down. I loved that he shared these Raiden pieces with Hanna and I loved how she nurtured
Raiden. She wrapped him in her love as much as she wrapped his big body with
one of her afghans. I felt the love between these two and I was overjoyed by
their HEA! Enjoy!
