Sum It Up!  Definitely a good read and I look forward to the other Giovanni family stories!

Marco Giovanni has shut off his emotions following a messy divorce. His small daughter and his chain of bakeries are all he needs in his life. The string of nannies are an unfortunate necessity he could well do without. So why does his body have to remember its needs now with the latest and most unsuitable nanny ever?

Elise has always been the responsible one, so when she receives yet another SOS phone call from her wayward twin, she does the only thing she can do, she steps into her shoes. Having to go back to nannying is hard enough, the unexpected attraction to her arrogant employer is impossible to deal with. Especially when she is forced to agree to a marriage of his convenience to pay off the debt her twin accrued.

In a marriage based on blackmail can passion turn into love, or will secrets and lies destroy all? (Goodreads)

Review:
This is book two in the Giovanni Clan series, but is easily a stand-alone, as I have not read book one and had no problems following along. Marco is a controlling self-righteous jerk that you can’t put sympathize with. Elise is subservient and emotional with a complete lack of self-worth that makes you want to whop her upside the head with a stick and tell her to get herself together. The saving grace of their relationship is the sex, which is really hot. The story sucks you in from the first page and holds your attention until you stay up until the wee hours of the morning to finish.

The reason this book didn’t earn a higher rating is because I was expecting something else, which is my fault, but still a letdown because I didn’t look at the genre before reading it. Having read a couple of Ms. O’Connor’s other books, the title, the word “clan” and the promise of secrets had me expecting and anticipating a paranormal read. That coupled with several grammar errors left this book at a solid 4 rating.

Definitely a good read and I look forward to the other Giovanni family stories!
