Review:
If
you thought Book 2 was mind blowing, baby, you ain't seen nothing
yet!
In
Book 3 of the Gothic Memoirs series,
Nadija finds herself not only trying to figure out who brutally murdered two
beloved Guardians, but also trying to right the wrongs done to the Vlkolak
bringing them back to council and presenting them with a new king. She also must
find out whose plotting to take her life, seeing as how this person may have
figured exactly how to do just that. Nadija also finds herself face to face with
the ghastly countess whose depravity has come out of hand. Though she does learn
more about how this cruel, pastel-colored monster came to be, she cannot allow
her to continue on the way she is. After all, no matter how a person may have
been wronged, after countless centuries, one must account for his/her own
actions at some point, even if they do have the brain of a teenager. She must
also deal with Andrei before leaving France behind. And before he gets his just
desserts, he humanizes himself, giving a full glimpse into the past that made
him come to be the monster he is today. As if that isn't enough to deal with,
wedding bells are also beginning to chime in the air.
Nadija
and Alexei are also getting ready for their big day- which also means the
merging of their two families. And just how well will that go over? How will
Olga react when she sees her granddaughter whom she hasn't seen in decades or
the great-granddaughter who knows nothing of her true heritage, whom she was
never allowed to lay eyes upon? Will Amalya run lovingly to her Grandmother,
yeah, probably not? Olga's sister, Lilly, has also come to town, though she
comes baring a message for Nadija that just may change the tides forever. Expect
sparks to fly during that fantastic family reunion! And speaking of family,
turns out the countess may just be a closer 'relation' than Nadija ever would
have liked.
Many
secrets and plots are revealed in Lucifer
Rising. Is Cyril just an ordinary vampire, or is he actually one of the
Fallen? Why is it that Alexei and Nadija truly fell so deep, so fast, for one
another? Is Nadija just one of Lillith's descendants, or is she much, much more?
Readers will also learn more of the Vlkolak, where they truly originated. Are
they indeed a curse, or were they a gift, an army, sent from God, to fight in
the inevitable war?
This
book cannot be read as a stand-alone, but this is truly a series that is worth
the read. Armusik knows how to keep readers entertained, use their brain, and
anticipate what is to come next.
