And this is besides her work for the Vampire Council, half of whom want her dead.

Review:

Risa Jones is proving to be almost as alluring as her beloved Aunt Riley and quite capable of kicking just as much butt!!
The first book of this dynamic new series was a bit of a disappointment to fans of the Guardian Series, me included, it just may have been woes from missing Riley as well as a little too much expectation. Readers need to remember that this is an entirely different series in a world all its own, also that first books are never quite fast paste; characters must be developed, plots must be established etc. And coming behind a series as wide spread as Riley Jenson is an almost impossible feat, for most, but NOT for Keri Arthur. The Dark Angels series has now proved to be in a league all its own packing quite a punch. Though still taking place in Melbourne, Risa is fighting forces that even Riley and Rhonan are not aware of. So if you are one of those fans who decided to write this series off as a dud and still mourn Riley, PICK IT BACK UP!!!! You will not be disappointed.
In this third installment Risa will find herself pulled in all directions, and quite possibly pulled apart. Not only does she have to worry about her deadly father showing up, but also the Raziq and Hunter who want the keys, that open the gates to Heaven and Hell, for ghastly different reasons. None of these three parties may be able to kill her since she is worth more alive, that never meant it would stop them from torturing to that fine point right before death. As if that isn't enough to deal with....... Ever wonder if there are men/women who are addicted to the bite of a vampire, blood-whores, could there indeed be vampires that are in turn addicted to them? Wonder no more. Risa has been given an offer she simply cannot refuse, unless she wants to forfeit her life. The vampire council has still not decided if she is valuable enough to keep alive, it has come down to the vote of the three undecided members. In order to prove her worth, she must find a killer who has been picking off blood-whore addicted vampires.
On the hotter side of things, Azriel, the reaper, and Risa just may give in to the flames that have burning between the two of them ever since book one. If they do, will this change things for the better, or the worse? Meanwhile, Risa is still having a love affair with the elusive banished Aedh, Lucian, whom Azriel still does not trust and believes may have been betraying them all along. That should be enough men to juggle right, wrong. Jak Talbot is also back on the scene, the reporter who ruined both Risa's life and heart. Risa turns to him for help in finding the mysterious third member of the consortium. Though as they turn up clues, they seem to leave a trail of bodies in their wake.
Warning: Readers will not be able to put this book down until they get to the last page. Stay tuned for Darkness Hunts, due to come out November 6, 2012.
