Sum It Up! In the end, I did get two HEAs, one pregnancy and a bunch of kids in the mix...so overall a good read.

Zoe Adams has always been content with her quiet nights at home, watching TV alone-until her life turns into a real-life episode of Unsolved Mystery Hunters. The story of a kidnapped girl triggers unexplained memories, and Zoe is dead-set on figuring out why. Her search leads her to one of the Lone Star State's richest families-and to sexy PI Tyler Lopez.

Tyler has sworn off women, especially redheads with killer curves who poke their noses into his clients' private lives. Still, he can't deny the attraction any more than he can deny that some of Zoe's crazy story makes sense. But when she becomes a hit man's target, this cold case starts heating up. Suddenly, Tyler will do anything to protect Zoe-even risk his heart.(Goodreads)

Review:
I loved the first book in this series...with a title like Don't Mess With Texas and a lawsuit with Texas DOT who wouldn't want to read this series. Unfortunately, Zoe and Tyler just didn't have the same spark that I felt with Dallas and Nikki. First, Nikki was wild and her grandma even better. Zoe is so intelligent, staid and reserved that I really had a hard time seeing her with a fiery passionate Latin man likeTy. One serious boost to this story was the interplay between Rick and Ellen. Rick works for Only in Texas PI's on the evenings and weekends for extra money to send his kid. Ellen works for the guys too as a file clerk and receptionist. Their initial spark was amazing, watching them try to fight it was fun, getting their HEA was wonderful.

Back to Zoe and Ty...see I had trouble sticking to their story. I found myself excited for the parts with Rick and Ellen, the parts with Ty's sisters and the banter between the women (Nikki, LuAnn, Zoe, etc). The mystery was good, but the resolution left me a bit flat. I wanted more flushed out about Zoe's liposuction Aunt, her billionaire dying grandfather, and most of all a moment with her late mother graveside or something. In the end, I did get two HEAs, one pregnancy and a bunch of kids in the mix...so overall a good read.

I am now looking forward to Austin's story...the playa will get his I am sure and I hope she is witty, smooth and all that! Enjoy!
