Sum It Up! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is unsure or wants to get into the Steampunk genre.

In an age where fantastic inventions of steam and brass have elevated Britain and China into mighty empires, Alice Michaels faces a future of technological terrors…
Once, Gavin Ennock sailed the skies on airships and enchanted listeners with his fiddle music. Now, the clockwork plague consumes his intellect, enabling him to conceive and construct scientific wonders—while driving him quite mad. Distressed by her beloved’s unfortunate condition, Alice Michaels sought a cure rumored to be inside the Doomsday Vault—and brought the wrath of the British Empire down on them.

Declared enemies of the Crown, Alice and Gavin have little choice but to flee to China in search of a cure. Accompanying them is Dr. Clef, a mad genius driven to find the greatest and most destructive force the world has ever seen: The Impossible Cube. If Dr. Clef gets his hands on it, the entire universe will face extinction.

And Gavin holds the key to its recreation…  (Amazon)
Review:
The Steampunk genre, too many people, has been a hard genre to get a grasp of with the detailed description of gadgets and jerking plot lines, however The Clockwork Empire books are changing what we know as Steampunk! I usually love Sci-Fi and futurist novels, but Steampunk has never really been my forte until now.

The Impossible Cube is an exuberant novel that takes the reader on an action packed and adventurous thrill ride. Gavin Ennock has been diagnosed with the incurable version of the Clockwork Plague. An intense disease that pushes your brains limits causing sparks of creativity and ingenious until it is all burned out ultimately killing the holder. In the first book (Doomesday) Alice stole the cure from the England in desperate attempt to save her love Gavin. Now Gavin and Alice set out to bring the cure to China against the British Empire. Steven
Harper has done a magnificent job at portraying a difficult plot line so that any reader will be able to grasp the complexity of the situation within moments. I absolutely fell in love with this series. I cannot find words to describe how amazing this series is. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is unsure or wants to get into the Steampunk genre. I have never been one to enjoy books of this genre, but now I feel as if a veil has been lifted and I can see clearly. The Impossible Cube is a one of a kind read that I’m sure you will never forget!
