Sum It Up! How to be Death is defiantly an attention grabber from the first page.

All Calliope Reaper-Jones ever wanted out of life was a fabulous job in New York City and a really hot boyfriend. But now, she's the brand-new President of Death, Inc. With the Board of Death breathing down her neck and her dad's copy of How to be Death (A Fully Annotated Guide) unopened, Callie's really feeling the tension. And when the guide book is stolen at a fancy formal dinner, Callie has to figure out how to be the boss--before the powers held within the book get out and destroy humanity forever... (Amazon)

Review:
How to be Death by Amber Benson is a face pasted action packed novel. The fourth in its series we find missing links to the third book, Serpents Storm and reconnect with some interesting past characters. We meet up with Callie as she takes on the role of CEO for Death Inc. at her first corporate event; The Masquerade Ball. Everything seems to go according to plan until the original copy of How to be Death disappears and to top it all off her sister is after her demise.

How to be Death is defiantly an attention grabber from the first page. Benson has a creative and alluring way of drawing readers in and keeping them entranced.
However, I did find Callie's overall character development to be lacking. Instead of growing throughout she still seems whinny and flaky. The good news is once I got caught up in the inevitable action these novels bring the lack of character development no longer mattered Of course it would not be a Reaper novel unless it stuck with an enticing amount of humor. When you are not gripping the edge of your seat in suspense you will be laughing a gut buster. Benson is a wonderful and creative author with a one of a kind imagination. I simply love her work and cannot wait to see what’s to come.
