There is need. And then there is Fate...

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.  (Goodreads)

Review:
This book is a phenomenal follow up to its predecessor, Half Blood. Armentrout has written another stand out novel that only leaves you begging for more!

Alex's life is still on a roller coaster that seems to have so many plunges and turns. She is in love with Aiden, the one man she cannot have, but also spending time with Seth who is by her side even if she does not want him there. As a tragic event takes place, Alex is left blaming herself but then is shipped off to give her testimony to the Pure's over the events that took place in Half-Blood. Not only is she dealing with a broken heart but someone is hell bent on killing her or making her spend her life in servitude to the Pure's.

This book was a tear jerker for me with all the emotions Alex is forced to face. I simply devoured the love triangle and still seem to be Team Aiden, especially after the stunning ending that has left me impatiently awaiting Deity, that will be released in September 2012.

This book comes recommend to the fans of Richelle Mead's, Vampire Academy! Armentrout is a master storyteller and I promise you will not be disappointed!
