Marked By Blood

Lucian Roman knows he must stay away from Bronwyn Kettler for sanity's sake. Since feeding her his blood, he can think of nothing else but possessing her—fighting an uncontrollable desire to kill her, if he has to, and the vampire she has sworn to wed.

Bronwyn, a brilliant vampire genealogist, can never escape her connection to Lucian. He sustained her when she was starving. He still rules her dreams. And when the nights get dark enough, she still craves him. Though his essence courses through her body, she has found a true mate in someone else.

But when a dangerous enemy threatens Bronwyn, only Lucian—bound to her forever by blood—can save her life. Even if it means sacrificing his own... (Goodreads)

Review:

Just when I think there are only so many different ways to be taken on the vampire aspect of things, there comes along another writer that makes you think again! Though I haven't yet had the pleasure of reading the first two books in this series, I am now most definitely a new fan of the dark, tantalizing tales in Mark of the Vampire.

Lucian, the youngest of the Roman brothers, has always known he carried the gene of the Breeding Male. What he didn't know, was how little time he had left before that gene kicked in. Destined to never find that one true mate that all pavens (Pureblood male vampires) long for, to become nothing more than an animalistic beast ready to rape and spend his seed in any female who dares to cross his path. The beginning of his destruction, his downfall, comes when an unwitting veana (Pureblood female vampire) takes from his vein, awaking a monster that has always laid buried deep within. But will she be his true destruction or indeed his salvation? Bronwyn Kettler has vowed to never end up with the fate as sister, forced to lay beneath the Breeding Male. Like all good vows, it may turn into comic relief for the fates. Ever since drinking from Lucian Roman, she can think of no other, including the paven she has promised herself to.

Cruen, the rogue member of the order, has special plans for both Lucian and Bronwyn. Plans that may not only be their downfall, but that of the vampire nation as a whole.

Eternal Captive is full of so many surprises, twists and turns that readers will have trouble putting it down. There is rarely a dull moment in the tales of one of the original Breeding Males offspring and their friends and lovers'. Be warned, these books are not for the faint of heart, the intimate scenes are very graphic and detailed to perfection.
