But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought. Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning. (Goodreads)

Review:
Cynthia Hand is a fabulous author whose written word is so profound that writing a simple review for Hallowed will certainly not do justice to this amazing book and its characters.
All the characters are back in Hallowed: Clara; the love struck quarter angel who discovers she’s more that who she grew up believing and is terrified of what her future will reveal. Tucker; the strong, farm-raised, loving guy whose love for Clara may be too much for him to handle.... Angela; her questionable mind and need for knowledge form their unique group of friends, both human and supernatural into a group of alliances. And then there is Christian. Handsome, loveable, caring and, as always, perfect for Clara…
Hallowed is full of deep sympathy, sorrow and realization that bring tears flooding to your eyes and to me, a faint smile in the end. Clara begins experiencing dreams and as she opens the line of communication with Angela, Angela urges her to talk with Christian. When she does, she finds they both share the same visions… again but at what cost? And where does Tucker fit into all of this? When the same Black Wing is back, threatening Clara’s life and those she’s loves, how can she allow Tucker to be harmed… and can Tucker get past his and his sisters near death struggle in the process?
There are too many factors happening within these pages, and I fear I’d never be able hold back the details if I go any further. I will say this, Hallowed ends with a heavy heart but as so, brings hope to the next chapter in Clara’s life which publication is due next year; 2013.
