Of the seven bold brothers born to defend their Scottish Highlands, Crevan McTiernay is the most restrained. But that doesn't make him any less passionate. . .

It Begins As A Ploy. . .

When Raelynd Schellden and her sister are caught in the stables with the notorious McTiernay twins, her father sees not scandal, but opportunity. The future of his clan is uncertain, and a double engagement—even under false pretenses—will lend security to his people and protect his beloved daughters from power-mad fools.

And Becomes A Pleasure

But Raelynd's designated intended interests her far less than his quietly powerful brother Crevan, a man born to lead. Though bound by honor and committed to his sworn duty, Crevan cannot resist a taste of Raelynd's crimson lips when offered—and then another and another—until the unlikely couple is entangled in both a public deception and each other's hearts. . . (Goodreads)

I loved Tempting the Highlander by Michele Sinclair. I have not read the other books in this series, but after this one I will! With no sons as heirs, Rae Schellden wants to protect his daughters from power hungry men wanting to take over his clan. His plan is a pretend double engagement between his twin daughters and the McTiernay twins. He has more planned than one can guess! He pairs Raelynd with Craig, not Crevan, because everyone thinks Craig would make an excellent Laird, and the man who marries Raelynd will be Laird.

The chemistry between Crevan and Raelynd is great! You can sense it right away and sometimes want to "smack" them into seeing it as well. There is a bit of a subplot with a Schellden cousin and maybe we can get a new story out of that too!

Once Crevan realizes he might actually lose Raelynd will he have the courage to step forward and claim her and the title of Laird? You truly have to read this book!
