Summary
USA Today bestselling author Lauren Dane delivers a second serving of
sexy in her new Delicious novel, in which taste and temptation make up a
sweet recipe...

Mary Whaley has her hands full running a successful catering company and
overseeing her supper club. She has everything she ever wanted-or so she
thought. When she meets ridiculously hot and very dirty rock star Damien
Hurley at her friend's engagement party, the attraction she feels is
overpowering-and she isn't about to deny herself.

Damien is used to a hard and fast life. He and two of his brothers
started a band when they were fresh out of high school-then they hit the
big time and stayed there. He's also a legendary madman on the stage and
in the bedroom. But when he meets Mary, something clicks, and the bad
boy starts thinking he may have finally found something good.

What begins as a series of fleeting trysts soon gets much more
complicated. Damien can't figure out why Mary doesn't want more from
him. And before long, it's Damien who wants more from Mary. But it turns
out Mary is no stranger to celebrity news, and he's got a very big job
ahead of him: proving that he's worth more than a one-night
stand...(Goodreads)

Review
Yikes...where to begin. I enjoyed this book, but I just didn't love it.
I was struggling with the why and then it hit me...again and again.
This book is a spin off from the Brown Siblings and while you should go
and read those books, you don't need to because they are re-capped here
(again and again...as are the other two Delicious books). I found
myself saying, "Ya, I get it. Your brother Cal is with both Jules and
Gideon. Gideon is great and your other brother Ryan is a handful." And
again, "I know, I know. You don't like the rock star lifestyle, you
don't like women all over your man, you have no faith in your lover."
Over and over.

I have read the book, The Secret. In a lot of ways I have to agree.
When you focus all your energy and thoughts and emotions into
negativity, negativity will be drawn to you. This was Mary. She warm
and giving and generous with her friends, and yet she could not take a
compliment, express real joy or feel burning passion. She bottles it up
as if it might disappear or be stolen. Thus, she focuses so much of her
energy on worry and fear that all she draws to her is worry and fear.

Damien was wonderful and charming and smexy. He did nothing to warrant
Mary's mistrust and fear. From the moment they met, he was honest,
upfront and truthful with her. He never made promises that he didn't
intend to keep and he certainly showed her time and again that she was
on his mind constantly while they were separated. But, and it is a big
BUT...he was a legendary manwhore for YEARS. Was. Did you hear me
Mary? Was. People grow up and especially after seeing and living
through his brothers darkest hours (Ezra and his battle with
heroine)...surely she should have believed him when Damien said he was
done with that old Damien.

Of course, the inevitable happens...no spoiler or surprise. And then,
of course my hot button got pushed: The don't talk about it, just assume
the worst button. Ugg...I wanted to smack Mary down something awful.
However, their HEA was sweeter and more honest after finally talking out
their issues, their fears and their hopes for the future. I enjoyed the
story and the smexing was HAWT. Enjoy!
